Wesley Mission is committed to following NSW Government’s guidelines during this challenging situation and to ensure information is made available to all our community across all our services.

We will keep this page updated with all the latest information and resources around the coronavirus (COVID-19) as it is made available by the NSW Government.

We have included the following infection control measures, as advised by the NSW Government, to ensure we do everything we can to protect our clients, staff, families and visitors across our services against COVID-19 and help prevent the spread of the virus.

The NSW Health advises that symptoms of COVID-19 can range from:

  • fever
  • coughing
  • sore throat
  • fatigue
  • shortness of breath

There are a number of ways you can test for COVID-19:

If you develop symptoms call your GP or healthdirect on 1800 022 222, so you can be appropriately assessed. Should you require testing, do not travel on public transport, use taxis or rideshare and do not attend any public places. If you are seriously unwell and it is an emergency, call 000 immediately. Our top priority is to maintain the health and safety of our clients, staff, families and visitors across our services.

The NSW Health advises the following as the best ways to practise good hygiene:

  • cover your coughs/sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
  • immediately discard used tissues into the bin
  • clean your hands thoroughly and often with soap and water
  • use alcohol-based hand sanitisers
  • avoid touching your face
  • frequently clean or disinfect used surfaces and objects (desks, doorknobs, phones and wallets)
  • make adjustments to increase fresh air

Social distancing

The NSW Government has further introduced ‘social distancing’ (also known as physical distancing) as an effective measure to slow the spread of COVID-19. Where possible, avoid close contact with others and try to keep a distance of 1.5 metres.
