Wesley School for Seniors
Wesley School for Seniors offers learning opportunities for people over 55 years old to help you learn new skills and socialise in an environment that is safe and supportive.
While COVID-19 has changed how we live at the moment, we want to make sure that you’re safe and still able to connect with others. That’s why, for both students and tutors, Wesley School for Seniors will not be running in-person classes in the Sydney CBD for the rest of 2020. In the meantime, we’re still offering select classes for residents in our Alan Walker and Frank Vickery retirement villages. If you live in Sylvania or Carlingford and would like to join these centres, please contact us by email or phone. While we can’t be in-person for our usual learning activities in the Sydney CBD, we’re offering many of our popular courses online. Click here for details on how you can take part in these classes at home using your computer, tablet or phone with Wesley Seniors online!
About the school
There are more than 90 courses offered at Wesley School for Seniors covering a diverse range of learning experiences, with different levels of learning available from beginner through to advanced.
Classes are held Monday to Friday at Wesley Mission’s Wesley Centre in Sydney’s CBD, and on various days at Alan Walker Village in Carlingford. Each term, approximately 450 students aged 55 years and over attend classes.
The range of subjects offered and the quality of teaching make it a cutting-edge centre for learning. Teachers and instructors volunteer their time and bring a wealth of experience from their field of expertise—some are retired university lecturers, whilst others have been craftspeople for many years.
