Wesley Operation Hope
This initiative gives disadvantaged young people a break from their everyday lives and the opportunity to work on person-centred goals, over a six month period. Adventure therapy is used as the foundation of providing support, encouragement, and care.
Each group entering the Wesley Operation Hope program consists of up to 16 young people aged 12-17 years, working together to develop personal goals, leadership skills, self-awareness, and self-actualisation.
Camps are run in conjunction with Wesley Vision Valley, a recreation centre in Sydney’s north-west. Young people participate over a 12 week period, using an adventure therapy model designed to foster change. The program is facilitated in different urban and wilderness environments, as well as at Wesley Vision Valley.
How do I refer someone to the program?
Intake takes place once a term and young people can be referred by:
- non-government Organisations
- the government’s Department of Family and Community Services (FACS)
- Juvenile Justice of the NSW Government
- health services
