Career Pathways

Career Pathways is a skills building program, initiated by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services to help people registered with social housing access education, training and practical support to build confidence and independence in the workforce.

Career Pathways is operating in the Sydney, Western Sydney, South West Sydney, Central Coast, Hunter New England, Mid-North Coast, and Northern NSW regions.

Our career coaches support you to determine your individual goals and values to help you map your path towards a meaningful career.

Choose to gain skills in:

  • Aged care,
  • Disability,
  • Community services,
  • Business,
  • Retail,
  • Hospitality, or
  • Horticulture.

As part of the program, support is available to cover expenses including travel and childcare.

Eligibility criteria

You may be eligible if you are:

  • 17 years or older and out of school
  • living in social housing (public, community or Aboriginal housing), or
  • on the NSW Housing register, or
  • receiving private rental assistance from FACS, or
  • living in crisis or supported accommodation.
