Disney brings a little pixie dust to Wesley Vision Valley

14 August 2017 Wesley Mission news

Disney volunteers at Wesley Vision ValleyWesley Vision Valley recently received a magical makeover through the help of 83 Disney Australia employees. Staff, from Disney’s Sydney and Melbourne offices, spent a day attending to the grounds of one of Wesley Mission’s largest conference facilities, as part of Disney’s annual ‘VoluntEAR’ day.

Disney employees began their VoluntEAR day at Wesley Vision Valley by clearing weeds, cleaning flower beds and replacing them with fresh compost. By lunchtime this enthusiastic team from Disney had spread their magic through improving the flower beds around the lodges, swimming pool and main building. Additionally, one group spent the morning demonstrating their arts and crafts prowess, creating special thank you cards for a group of children.

“Thanks to their great efforts, thousands of school children will be able to enjoy the facilities of Wesley Vision Valley even more in the months ahead when they visit for their school camps, saving the centre’s one and only groundsman over 200 hours of back-breaking work,” said Richard Duncan, Wesley Volunteering Manager.

After a morning of hard work, the group from Disney spent an afternoon under the expert guidance of the Wesley Vision Valley team, enjoying the many team-building activities on offer, including the flying fox, giant crate stack and archery.
