Donations bring hope to those most in need this Christmas
Thanks to the support of many Australian corporate organisations, vulnerable families, children and individuals will have hope this Christmas.
The Commonwealth Bank of Australia recently donated $11,000 to Wesley Mission’s Christmas hamper drive. Over the last 12 months Commonwealth Bank’s Group Finance team held a year-round chocolate sale for the purpose of bringing joy to the less fortunate through the gift of hampers. The donation from Commonwealth Bank will help provide up to 150 hampers.
AMP are also bringing hope to the Australian community by taking part in Wesley Mission’s Tree of Hope. Businesses are invited to place a Christmas tree in their office and decorate it with supplied Wesley Mission gift tags. Staff are then invited select a gift tag, purchase a suitable present for that child and then place it under the tree. AMP have 22 Christmas trees in their offices throughout NSW and many staff have jumped on board to donate.
So far AMP has donated over 2600 items for 65 hampers and over 750 toys to the Tree of Hope. AMP are also selling handmade Christmas cards to raise funds to purchase items for the Tree of Hope and our Christmas hamper drive.
Johnson & Johnson, Schroders and Salesforce have joined the Tree of Hope initiative and have donated many gifts for children in need this Christmas. Knox Grammar has also collected a number of food donations for our Christmas hampers.
