Four easy ways to celebrate #GivingTuesday
Tuesday 29 November is #GivingTuesday, a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give. It will culminate with a global day of giving on the first Tuesday of December every year. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners— charities, families, businesses and individuals—to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season. Largely through social media, #GivingTuesday will inspire people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities, give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they celebrate and help create a better world.
4 easy ways to get involved in Giving Tuesday:
1. Give a gift that matters
You can give a gift that matters through the Wesley Gift Shop by choosing from a range of online charity gifts – such as a hamper of food and small gifts for a family in crisis this Christmas. We’ll send an e-card on your behalf or you can also print the card to give in person.
2. Donate to our Christmas Appeal
Every day, 11 families in crisis come to Wesley Mission for help. A donation of $60 can provide a hamper of food and small gifts for a family in desperate need this Christmas
3. Support our services in the community with workplace giving
Workplace giving is a simple way to support our critical services in the community throughout the year through a regular donation deducted from your pre-tax salary. Visit Good2Give to register today.
From helping out in the garden at Wesley Vision Valley, to visiting people living in our aged care residences or taking the Wesley Homeless Food Challenge – we’ll find an opportunity that suits you and makes the best use of your time and skills.
Don’t forget to use the hashtag and share the #GivingTuesday love on Social Media!
