Hugh Jackman throws a line to Wesley Mission mate

16 October 2017 Wesley Mission news

With obviously busy schedule, Hugh Jackman wasn’t available for this week’s Big Zipper fundraising event. Instead, he’s thrown a line of support to a mate, one of our fundraisers and Wesley Mission Volunteering Manager, Richard Duncan.

Hugh Jackman tweet“I’m so stoked to have one of Hollywood’s biggest names and Australia’s favourite sons back me” Richard said.

Later this week, Richard will stand on top of the AMP Centre tower along with other daring fundraisers. Charged with raising a minimum of $5,000 for their chosen charity, Richard has successfully raised over $12,000 for Wesley Mission.

“The lifesaving work that my colleagues do is so important and I couldn’t be more honoured to help support them in this small way” said Richard.

The event, scheduled for Friday 20 and Saturday 21 October and organised by the AMP Foundation, will celebrate their 25 year anniversary and aim to raise $1 million dollars of support. Each Fundraiser will drop off 20 floors in under 15 seconds spanning the gap between  AMP’s two iconic skyscrapers in Sydney’s Circular Quay.
