The Man of Galilee to air on Channel 9

Did you know the Sea of Galilee is shaped like a harp? It’s just 21 km long, 13 km at its widest and lies 200 m below sea level, with an average depth of just 25 m.

The Sea of Galilee is just one of the many historic locations that will be featured in an engaging six-part documentary series, which follows the footsteps of Jesus Christ and will air on Channel Nine.

The Man of Galilee series takes a first-hand look at the locations that Jesus Christ called home, and explores how his teachings remain relevant today.

Hosted by Wesley Mission’s CEO, Keith Garner, this powerful documentary explores the ministry of Jesus in the context of first century life by visiting historic locations including The Sea of Galilee and Nazareth, Capernaum, Bethsaida, Tiberias, Tabgha, Magdala, at the Mount of Beatitudes and along the Jordan River. He also invites viewers to ask their own questions about the impact of Jesus’ life and ministry of earth.

“Throughout my ministry, I’ve been very conscious of the importance of the Galilee in Jesus’ ministry. It was where he lived, taught and brought about remarkable change in people’s lives. Two thousand years later, it is possible to imagine, and even enter into God’s calling in the person of Jesus Christ, through conversation with others as you visit this beautiful area,” says Mr Garner.

“My hope for this series is that it enables you to understand the region and feel the call of Jesus Christ upon your life today. We are invited to consider afresh not only what his calling meant for the first disciples, but also what it can mean for those of us who have to live out our faith in the cities, towns and villages of the 21st century.”

The Man of Galilee will air across six Sundays from Sunday 29 April 5.30 am on Channel Nine. A series repeat will be aired from 11 November 2018.
