A new hashtag, #faceofdepression, is highlighting what a person with depression looks like. So what does a person with depression look like?

The first step to identifying whether you or someone you know suffers from depression, begins with Wesley LifeForce's SALT strategy—to see the signs.

The challenge is, as you’ll find out from the images below, that depression doesn’t look like anything at all. People often hide their mental health struggles. They don’t necessarily appear sad— they can look like any other person you would pass on the street.

The impact of depression and anxiety disorders are very common in our community but they are treatable, and the sooner help is sought out the better. Don't take everything at 'face' value. If you think or know someone who is struggling, ask "Are you OK?" before it's too late.
