Wesley Building Dreams
There are currently 4.2 million Australians classified as having a disability and 2.7 million other Australians classified as informal carers. With the help of local renown watercolour artist, Sadami Konchi, Wesley Mission created Wesley Building Dreams - an inclusive art exhibition to empower and recognise the dreams of people living with disability.
With Sadami's supervision and encouragement, Wesley Mission clients completed art for the exhibition while schools from across New South Wales submitted pieces under the building dreams theme. The week long exhibition took place in the Wesley Centre in Sydney's CBD.
Surrounded by artwork and the joyful celebrations, Rev Keith Garner shares the impact of the exhibition.
"We've linked together the importance of art and helping people and we've been impressed with an artist in residence has helped our clients to get the very best out of their skills."
