John Wesley: Expanding ministry
In this week's episode of Wesley Impact! TV, Rev Keith Garner finds himself at the top of Hanham Mount in Bristol to celebrate the 200 years of the Methodist message, where John Wesley specifically ministered to the miners who were ostracised from some local churches. Dr Garner meets with the Rev Steven Wild, Cornwall Methodist District Chair and the Rev Mark Dunn-Wilson, Truro Methodist Church, Cornwall.
The people of Cornwall loved Methodism and had a strong connection to the movement. While in Cornwall, Rev Steven Wild shows Dr Garner the remodelled open air amphitheatre, which became a place of significance for John Wesley and a special meeting ground for the miners.
“They were real men's men, really, really rough people who came to faith in Christ here.”
Over the next 50 years John Wesley travelled up to a 1/4 of a million miles over the British isles on horseback, touring Scotland, Ireland and Wales to spread the gospel message.
After Dr Garner shares one of John Wesley's messages called "The Marks of the New Birth", the Redeemer Baptist Choir concludes the episode with a special performance.
