Wesley Impact! TV: Christians in the Media

On this week’s episode of Wesley Impact! TV, Rev Keith Garner invites us to consider the Christian concept of sufficiency, and to understand how God provides even in difficult times. Reading from Matthew 3, we hear about our need for such a sufficiency.

Also on the show, Rev Garner interviews ABC veteran John Cleary, who shares some foundational experiences from his time on the road as a reporter, as well as some wisdom for young Christians who wish to move into media careers. As John explains, it’s an important, if daunting, ambition.

Finally, Leah Brett joins us once again on the show, to bring us a beautiful rendition of the song ‘I Love You Lord’. Feel free to sing along from your own home if it’s a tune you remember well.

Interview: John Cleary

Today on Wesley Impact! TV, Rev Keith Garner is joined by an ABC radio veteran, and someone that many viewers will be familiar with already.

John Cleary’s career in radio began unconventionally, after a long period spent teaching. Back then, the ABC was even more of a national institution than it is now. John shares some of his favourite experiences on the road in Africa with Bishop Desmond Tutu, and recalls the emotional and spiritual impact of his travels.

John also shares with Rev Garner some sage advice for younger Christians who wish to enter the media. It’s an important role, and our world needs more Christians in media – as John explains – but the role must be taken seriously for any representative of Christ.

Guest performance: Leah Brett – I Love You Lord

Wesley Impact! TV regular Leah Brett joins us again in the studio to bring us a beautiful performance of the song ‘I Love You Lord’. The tune was recorded live in the Wesley Impact! studios.

Keith’s message: My Grace is Enough

This week on Wesley Impact! TV, Rev Keith Garner challenges us to take our thinking deeper on the subject of sufficiency. In Matthew, we read that God’s grace is sufficient for us.

But how do we apply this message, especially in situations of difficulty and hardship? Rev Garner invites us to lift our eyes around the world to see how Christians around the globe have responded to this challenge.
